About the Event
This six week course is the perfect introduction to yoga for absolute beginners. You will learn the basics of yoga postures ('asanas'), breathing techniques ('pranayama'), yoga philosophy, meditation and relaxation. You will also learn how a regular weekly yoga practice can positively influence your life off the mat as well as on! Its a serious crash course in the ashtanga yoga primary series.
The course takes place once per week on recurring Saturdays (1/2, 8/2, 15/2, 29/2, 7/3, 14/3) for one hour each time (9am-10am). Please note that we will have no class on February the 22nd in order to coincide with local school half-term holidays.
Our provisional curriculum is as follows;
Week 1 - Introduction to Opening Mantras, Pranayama and Sun Salutation A
Week 2 - Sun Salutations A and B
Week 3 - Standing Postures (1)
Week 4 - Standing Postures (2)
Week 5 - Seated Postures
Week 6 - Seated to Supine Postures and Savasana
