About the Event
This six week course is the perfect introduction to a strengthening yoga practice for absolute beginners. You will learn the basics of yoga postures ('asanas'), breathing techniques ('pranayama'), yoga philosophy, meditation and relaxation. You will also learn how a regular weekly yoga practice can positively influence your life off the mat as well as on! Its a serious crash course in the ashtanga yoga primary series.
The course takes place once per week on recurring Thursdays (20/2, 27/2, 5/3, 12/3, 19/3, 26/3) for one hour each time (7.20pm-8.20pm).
Our provisional curriculum is as follows;
Week 1 - Introduction to Opening Mantras, Pranayama and Sun Salutation A
Week 2 - Sun Salutations A and B
Week 3 - Standing Postures (1)
Week 4 - Standing Postures (2)
Week 5 - Seated Postures
Week 6 - Seated to Supine Postures and Savasana
